Memory #2473
We laughed our mal-parenting skills as we left him in the cup holder to go eat at Red Robin. Then, we stood outside after dinner and came up with his name: DJ Hubert. Wiki-wiki. The coolest fish alive. Why? Because he was ours.
Bringing him home, we scrounged for a suitable living space container for him. Finding the daisy jar, Jake and I nervously transferred him over. Was there too much tap water? Was the temperature right? How were we going to get him in there? How much food was too much to feed him?
We decided to take pictures to commemorate the event. Then, we marveled; proud of the little creature we adopted and excited that we had made the decision together, laughing that it was a fish and that we both cared that much.
The first thing we jointly-parented. Still alive and happy.
Today, I am home and have almost an entire 24 hours at my disposal.
…And nothing to procrastinate.

Still snowed in although the roads are getting better, it appears.
Currently watching Vantage Point & crocheting a blanket.
Today was wonderful. For the first time in my life, I actually went and romped around in the snow and laughed and had a blast. Like - a snowball-fight, snow-angel-making, lets-ride-around-in-the-trunk-of-the-Durango-so-it-has-enough-weight-in-the-back-to-get-the-rear-wheel-drive-unstuck - fun.
Truly, we all piled into the trunk and left the hatch open so there would be enough weight in the back so that it wouldn’t slide all over the ice… Now, it’s backed in the driveway and hopefully won’t be a pain in the ass to get out in the morning.
Then, an epic game of Monopoly and homemade potato & cheese soup. Tons of coffee and hot chocolate.
We opened stockings early today, too.
Lovely.

Moment #2846
I remember sitting out in the chilly, November air, Jake’s arm around my shoulder, talking with some random girl and her friend. Smoking, we chatted about her shitty boyfriend and her best friend’s awesome shoes from that expensive shoe store Jake took me in when we went to St. Louis.
Later that night, I sang a Fergie song to him and we laughed at the Marines who didn’t know how to dance.
<3
I redecorated today & it took forever.
…but I am so happy! :)
Throwing it all away, she raised the glass to her lips for the umpteenth time that night. Draining the liquor, practically licking the ice cubes clean, she received another round and repeated the same dismal ritual.
It had become more of a habit lately, she realized. Even in her inebriated state, with the overwhelming calm that cascaded over her mind, she saw the warning signs. Still, ignoring the obvious danger she took another drink…
