I can say that things have become very very different. I can’t really decipher if time’s have changed, or is it me that’s changed. But regardless which is “at fault,” I’m happy with where I’m at right now, and the journey I had to take to get there. I must’ve fallen a million times, tripped over numerous cracks, possibly even tripped over the same spot, but I’ve learned. And I’m learning. New...
Decedents, French Fries & An Incredibly Good Book.
Home, for the evening.
Worked today then Jake and I went out for dinner at our favorite little dive. I’ll probably turn in for the night at an outrageously early hour because I work a long day, tomorrow. 8-9:3O. But I love it, so I’m definitely looking forward to it.
I have been thoroughly sucked into “Stiff.” If things like laundry and errands and work didn’t...

bkaffa: When we moved here, we had a box of spices - the McCormick ones - and since we didn't cook...with spices for a while, they sat neglected. One day, I was making my own taco seasoning and went and found the box, thinking "Oh, they all have lids... what can go wrong with spices?" ...apparently, a lot. A small family of what can only be described as moth-gnat hybrids somehow got THROUGH the threads on the lids and made a web-like nest in the bottles. Needless to say, the entire box had to be trashed. It was so sad, lol
chrisdoug56: i think i just cried a little inside upon hearing that
bkaffa: I'm like "guys, you're living inside fucking SPICE BOTTLES. Your webnests will catch NO sustenance at all, whatsoever. ...morons."
chrisdoug56: hahaha
chrisdoug56: i don't know, i mean, the paprika moths of Hungary are well known for being very persistent at living
bkaffa: hahaha, it must be all that...paprika essence
chrisdoug56: moths are very good at adapting between Spanish paprika and Hungarian paprika
bkaffa: Good for them. To me they will always be spice-ruining bastards.

Reading through old journal entries, I realized what an interesting kid I was. Fifteen, quoting Liz Smith, lauding G. Gordon Liddy and energetically talking of court verdicts. In one entry, I was thrilled to buy “my very own” typewriter - of course, I was excited “in a way which words [could] not adequately convey” that it was portable. In another entry, I explained why...
Newness.
It looks like I am going to get a new laptop.
Not right now, as I don’t yet have enough money for one… Maybe in the next few payperiods.
As much as I love my Compaq, I got it Freshman year of college - Compaq has gone out of business and four years is a long time for a laptop to remain alive.
I am looking forward to new technology - Windows 7 in particular, as I am still running...

Dear You,
I hope you’re able to get everything together. That you can attain a sense of what you want. …That you end up happy.
I know that’s what you want & have always wanted - to be happy, satiated, loved and not alone. It’s within reach. It’s a matter of merely taking the steps to...

Xo what a doll: I think I could pass for jesus when I'm wasted. just did a miraculous thing like, lifted our 50 lb hotel window to let some air in
Xo what a doll: obviously i am still alive because I made it to my hotel room
bkaffa: which is a good thing, although I wouldn't doubt your ghost's ability to get online
Xo what a doll: yeah
Xo what a doll: my ghost would probably be pretty sweet
bkaffa: definitely.
I passed Accounting with a C and Business Law with a B-.
Also, I got an A- on my World Religions final, which means I should pass that class, too… Considering I got an A on the last huge project.
I’m fairly certain that I passed my Thesis, too - since I got As on every assignment except one.
It looks like I don’t have to worry!

Eyes Open.
I woke up at 4:15. Not the kind of groggy, roll over and look at the clock kind of wake-up, either. More along the lines of my eyes popped open and I was… awake! Ready to take on the day! Subsequently looking around going “and what time is it again? Because I’m ready for a cup of coffee and the sunshine!”
What the hell.

Today, I am home and have almost an entire 24 hours at my disposal.
…And nothing to procrastinate.
Brrr!
Still snowed in although the roads are getting better, it appears.
Currently watching Vantage Point & crocheting a blanket.
Today was wonderful. For the first time in my life, I actually went and romped around in the snow and laughed and had a blast. Like - a snowball-fight, snow-angel-making,...

Onrushing Locomotive.
Throwing it all away, she raised the glass to her lips for the umpteenth time that night. Draining the liquor, practically licking the ice cubes clean, she received another round and repeated the same dismal ritual.
It had become more of a habit lately, she realized. Even in her inebriated state, with the overwhelming calm that cascaded over her mind, she saw the warning signs. Still, ignoring...
